The majority of people who are under 30 have never experienced sitting in a velour car seat. It wasn't a very pleasant experience, to say the least.

Velour car seats were uncomfortable, especially in hot weather. Anyone sitting in one would start sweating almost immediately. Plus, velour didn’t hold up well under sunlight and aged poorly. It's no wonder this feature faded from cars after the 1980s.
