Today's younger generation will never know the challenge of manual brakes. Like manual steering, pressing the brake pedal without a booster took a lot of effort, to say the least.
Brake boosters were invented back in 1927, but for some reason, they didn’t become common until much later. In fact, many cars built in the '70s still didn’t have brake boosters.
