Younger Generations Won’t Know These Old Car Features
Bench Seats
Most older cars had a bench seat in the front. It was much more comfortable than regular seats and allowed more people to fit in the car.
This was common long before seatbelts were required, so safety wasn’t a big concern back then. Over time, carmakers switched out front bench seats for individual ones. The Chevy Impala was the last car to offer a bench seat, but the extra $195 option was no longer available after 2012.
