In a story fit for a movie, Rose Dunn became romantically involved with gang member George "Bittercreek" Newcomb at the age of 15. When Newcomb's gang got into a shootout and went into hiding, Newcomb returned to visit Dunn, only for her brothers to shoot him and claim his $5,000 bounty.

Some speculate that Dunn set him up, but the truth remains unknown. Regardless, it would have made for a thrilling plot twist if not for the spoiler.
