Top Foods for Controlling High Blood Pressure
In the world of health, it's usually easier to find lists of foods to avoid rather than foods you should eat, especially for people with high blood pressure, diabetes, or heart disease. But there are good options out there.
Doctors and dietitians have recommended certain foods for those at risk of high blood pressure. A good list of these foods can show not only what is safe to eat but also what can help lower blood pressure.
Kiwi
In a 2015 study published in the Blood Pressure journal, researchers compared the effects of eating three kiwi fruits a day for eight weeks with eating an apple a day for the same period. By the end of the study, the results supported previous research findings.
Specifically, kiwi fruit was shown to lower blood pressure both when the heart beats and when it rests between beats. At the very least, blood pressure was lower in those who ate kiwi fruits compared to those who ate an apple.
