Ty Beanie Babies are a prime example of a hard-to-resist collectible. Once you get one Beanie Baby, you’re often tempted to collect more. Kids love them for their unique ‘bean’ stuffing, which sets them apart from typical plush toys.

In 1995, adults started collecting Beanie Babies as investments, hoping for high resale values. That year, these toys were resold on eBay for ten times their original price. However, as the fad faded, so did their value.
