An undeniable warning sign of a questionable rental property is the presence of any sort of physical deterioration. Some very noticeable signs of damage include windows, fans, moldings, and light fixtures, which should all be in one piece and free of holes and cracks. Suppose there are any chips in the countertop or sink. In that case, it doesn’t necessarily need to be a deal-breaker for the property, but report it to the landlord immediately if it develops into a more significant issue, and be sure to take photos of it and send the images to them if necessary.
