15 TIMES PEOPLE'S GUT FEELINGS SAVED LIVES
6. Exit Approaching
U/kannakantplay: "I was on my way home from work when I encountered a downpour so intense that I could barely see. Despite the heavy rain and my initial thought that home wasn't much further and I should just continue on, I suddenly felt a compelling urge to take the next available exit. It was as if continuing straight became an unviable option, and almost instinctively, I took that exit.

I found a familiar parking lot and decided to wait out the rain there for a while. After the rain let up, I retraced my route and re-entered the freeway a few exits before the one I had initially taken. As I passed the area I would have been in, I noticed that they were still clearing up the aftermath of a traffic accident. Had I not followed that strong intuition to exit, there's a good chance I would have been involved in that accident."
