U/Anwhaz: "I work as an arborist, and I encountered a peculiar situation at one job site. I was examining a tree, and I had this strange intuition. It was odd because there were no visible signs of trouble such as rot, signs of girdling roots, weakness, root zone flooding, or included bark. Despite this, I had a strong feeling that this was a job better suited for a bucket truck.

When I ascended with the bucket, I began to trim the top of the tree, and to my shock, the entire tree essentially crumbled apart. It was as if the tree had decided that if it was going to fall, it would do so dramatically. Had I not opted to use the bucket truck, I would have faced a perilous 60-foot plummet along with large sections of the tree that could have been fatal. Even after looking at the logs, I couldn’t really tell why they gave away."
