15. Gas Station Stand Off

U/kd5nrh: "Ten years ago, I was employed in security at a site about 50 miles from my residence. My shift ended at midnight, and I chose not to change out of my security uniform, anticipating only a quick gas stop. There were two gas stations open late in the town where I worked, but I overlooked the first one as I drove by. When I arrived at the second station, something felt off to me.

Despite only the clerk being visible, I opted to return to the first station. After fueling up and leaving, I approached the area of the station that had unsettled me earlier. To my surprise, three city police cars, two deputies, and a state police trooper were blocking the road with officers armed and ready. It transpired that an officer had entered the station during a robbery in progress."
