14. Almost Ruined Christmas

U/Kelztron: "It was Christmas Eve at my childhood home, and my mom had surprised my dad with a large TV, which she hid in my closet along with other gifts. Later that night, she had to fetch a smaller present and, in doing so, inadvertently moved the TV directly in front of my wall heater. She didn't move it back afterward.

I didn’t notice and went to sleep shortly after she left. However, in the early hours of the morning, I awoke to a thickening smoke and an ominous orange glow emanating from behind the TV box. Fortunately, there were no large flames at that point, and I was able to prevent a potential disaster by simply moving the box away from the heater... If I hadn’t, we would have woken up on Christmas morning to our house on fire."
