Department: Operations

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Status: Non-Exempt – Full Time

Salary Range: $40+/hour (depending on experience)

Job Summary: Climb and trim and/or remove trees with the aid of a ladder, harness, climbing rope, powered pruning lift, or work from the ground using a saw/trimmer. Branches or trunk sections are cut and ropes are used to drop or lower them to the ground.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Assign, direct and mentor tree trimmers, equipment operators and grounds crews

•Climb and trim and/or remove trees with the help of a ladder, harness, climbing rope, powered pruning lift, or work from the ground using a saw/lopper

•Removing or pruning trees and shrubs in violation of utility or conveyance rights of the road

•Responsible for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks and other work equipment

•Ensure all crew members adhere to safe work practices

Eligibility and special requirements:

•No academic requirements

•No experience required

•No age limit

•Should have computer skills including Word, Excel, and Google Applications (preferred)

•Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.

•Must know the safest methods to use when performing strenuous labor

•Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those with whom you come into contact in the course of work.

•Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately.

•Ability to perform manual and custodial tasks for long periods of time, often against deadlines.

•Ability to work flexibly, including early mornings and weekends when necessary
